Jordana Matte Lipsticks Haul and First Impression

Hello ladies of the world wide web!

Today is "International Lipstick Day!" I had no idea of such celebration until my Instagram feed greeted me with colorful and gorgeous lips from the different cosmetic brands and makeup artists I follow. To join in the celebration, I decided to do a haul and review on the Jordana Matte Lipsticks.

I've long been searching for my "destiny liptick" (yes, I add the word "destiny" to things that I want to have and are difficult to find). Unfortunately, I have had no luck with any of the staple brands you find in almost every mall. I had to watch several videos on Youtube to narrow down my options. Two of the brands that got my interest were Wet n Wild and Jordana. These brands carry products that are known for its quality at a pocket-friendly price.

As soon as they were available online, I ordered right away. Here are the different colors that I purchased:

The Verdict

The good:
  • Affordable. Price range: Php99-170 in online stores (exclusive of shipping)
  • Pigmented. Just a swipe or two is enough for me. It's pigmented enough to even out the color of my lips. Even if you have two-tone lips you don't have to use concealer before applying it; it's fine on its own.
  • It's matte but it's also a little creamy in texture. It glides on easily on the lips which makes for an easy application.
  • Long-wear. I haven't gone all out in testing these lipsticks but in my experience, it did stay for a decent amount of time even after a meal.
  • It doesn't dry out your lips nor add emphasis to dry patches.
  • Lightweight. It's light on the lips, you'll even forget it's there. I'm comfortable wearing it.
  • It makes my face glow. I'm not kidding. They have several shades that look nice on women with brown skin like myself. Colors like Poppy Pink, Cafe, Mystery, and Rouge are "morena-friendly."
The (not so) bad:
  • Not accessible. This brand is not widely available here in the Philippines. It's best to purchase this online.
  • Packaging. Issues on the packaging being have been pointed out in blogs/vlogs but I personally don't have issues with it.
These are photos of me wearing my new "destiny lipstick."
I love these matte lipsticks. I see myself buying more shades in the months to come. Among all the matte lipsticks I've owned and used, these are by far the best. I'm not exaggerating. I am very pleased with this product. If you want to give them a try, go ahead. You won't regret it.

I hope this helps! <3

Eye of Horus Teal Malachite Goddess Pencil

A Review on Eye of Horus Teal Malachite Goddess Pencil

Last month, I got hold of the Eye of Horus Teal Malachite Goddess Pencil along with some other goodies in the Special Edition Eye of Horus Glamourbox. Initially, I wasn't very happy with the color because I was looking forward to getting a black one. However, the moment I unwrapped the pencil and saw how gorgeous the color was, I fell in love.

* MY THOUGHTS ON THE PRODUCT *

Color: The warm metallic teal color goes well with any skin tone. My skin color changes a lot during the year, it can turn from fair medium to deep brown in just a matter of days. Taking such factor into consideration, I don't think I'll have issues in wearing this color. It is also very pigmented which means that it'll last a long time.

Formula: True to it's claim, this product has a creamy texture that glides on easily and blends well. Once it sets, it stays on without smudging for a good amount of time.

Price: This product retails for Php990 online at Glamourbox.ph and DTCMakeup. It is very expensive for an eye pencil but it's definitely worth the splurge.

You can create a number of looks with this pencil that can give different levels of sultriness. I'm still getting used to wearing eye-catching colors during the day but I definitely make up for it in the evening. Currently, this is my favorite look using the Eye of Horus Teal Malachite Goddess Pencil.

I hope you enjoyed reading this review. If you're still thinking of getting this product, I say go ahead and buy it. If you already have it, I'd like to know your thoughts and see the different looks you've created. Until the next one...

Cheers <3

Unboxing: Special Edition Eye of Horus Glamourbox

Finally, after the long wait, my special edition Eye of Horus Glamourbox has arrived. I've never owned any Eye of Horus product before but I've been thinking of getting their Goddess Mascara. I chanced upon a kiosk in Market Market, (forgot if it was Snoe or something else) and saw that they had testers; so without hesitation I tried it out. I like how it emphasized my eyes and lengthened my lashes.
The moment Glamourbox announced their tie-up with Eye of Horus on their upcoming subscription box, my heart leapt!
Without further ado, I present the Special Edition Eye of Horus Glamourbox goodies:

Item/Price:
1 Eye of Horus Teal Malachite Goddess Pencil Php990
2 Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara Php990
3 Eye of Horus Sharpener Php295
4 Eye of Horus Ankh Necklace Php580
5 Eye of Horus Facial Bamboo Mitt Php480

Here are my thoughts on this box:

The Good:

1. It's worth every penny. I paid Php695 for a box of Eye of Horus products with a total value of Php3,335. BOOYAH!!!
2. The Teal Malachite Goddess Pencil and Goddess Mascara are perfect for the summer season. I'm very pleased that they included these products.
The (not so) Bad
1. The combination of products confused and disappointed me a bit. Because the theme revolves around the idea of having sultry eyes, I was expecting to get makeup or products that can be used to "prep my peepers" as mentioned in their ad.
2. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with my purchase. I just think they should have thrown in something else instead of the necklace and the mitt. I like the necklace, but it doesn't make my eyes sultry. I mean, come on...

Overall, I'm glad I subscribed to this special edition Glamourbox. Despite the theme issues  I have, I'm satisfied with the products that actually go with the theme. I would definitely recommend this to those who don't own any Eye of Horus products yet. It's a good way to get to know the product without spending so much.
As of today, February 23, 2015, 12:20 p.m., the special edition Eye of Horus Glamourbox is still available for subscription at Glamourbox.ph

L'Oreal Paris Mini Haul

I rarely go out these days since my sprained foot has been acting up more than ever, but a recent trip to the mall proved to be worthwhile.

Thanks to L'Oreal Paris' promotion, I got more than my money's worth.

Here is the list of L'Oreal products I bought:

- Mat Magique All-In-One Matte Transforming Powder in Rose Ivory
- Dermo-Expertise Gentle Lip and eye makeup remover for waterproof makeup
- Color Riche Le Vernis in 312 Flaming Berry
- Base Magique Transforming Smoothing Primer

The promo required a minimum purchase of Php 999.00 which should include the new L'Oreal Paris Mat Magique All-In-One Matte Transforming Powder. The sales associate mentioned that it's on for the whole month of February, but isn't sure if it's available nationwide. So, in case you want to take advantage of the same promo, it's best that you visit the nearest Watson's branch or malls which carry the brand.

I will be using these products on a daily basis so I can come up with reviews to share. Until then, stay beautiful!

Cheers <3
